Over the weekend we brewed the Belgian stout and poured it into a 23L fermenter, and it is currently bubbling away. I'm worried that the 23L fermenter is too small for the 20L beer because in the past we have had issues with the airlock getting clogged as the fermentation process went on and the contents of the fermenter expanded (and those beers were 19L batches as opposed to 20L).
Would it be safe to buy the bigger 38L fermenter and transfer the beer into the bigger fermenter, or is there another solution to this problem?
Advice would be greatly appreciated. We have brewed a few times, but are still fairly new to this.
Thanks!
